It does a great job of keeping my combination blemish-prone skin hydrated without leaving a "shiny" look. However without an spf it lead me to use it in the PM only and i generally prefer my night creams to have actives in them. But great as a basic moisturizer for combination skins.

For dehydrated skin this was a Fab find. I used to be faithful to the Olay 7signs of aging day cream. Then I tried the Aesop mandarin hydrating cream. Each of which were great, but didn't get rid of the tightness of my skin (Yes I should also drink more water!). This one is the perfect fit for me. My only criticism is its a bit pricey and there isn't enough in each tube as I go through it so quickly.

For a combination skin lady, Dermalogica Active Moist is certainly tantalizing in its claim to provide, 'Effective skin hydration, without oils...absorbs quickly, leaving no greasy after-feel'. 'Silk proteins', 'botanical astringents' and 'soothing extracts', a Dermalogica speciality, sounds gorgeous. So why are there no actives? It is lovely to use and soaks in well and keeps my skin nourished in winter. I do not think that it deserves purchase until it proves its worth over similarly priced moisturizers. A happy gift it would make.

Active Moist has been great for my skin. It hydrates without being too heavy & leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth. It's getting a little bit too heavy for my oily skin in the warmer weather though, so I think it's will be best for evenings and during winter for those who are prone to oilness.

A nice light moisturiser that doesn't leave any greasy feel. I wouldn't buy it again though because it is way overpriced and doesn't have any actives or sunscreen in it so seems a little pointless.

Great moisturiser for those with combo/oily skin types because it's quite light but it stills gives just the right amount of moisture to the skin.
