Directions
Apply once or twice a week to a thoroughly clean, dry face and neck. Avoid the eye contour area. Wait one minute and then exfoliate by rolling away the peel in an outwards and upwards direction from the centre of the face, using light stroking movements. To prevent pulling, support skin with one hand while exfoliating with other. Rinse with warm water before applying Clarins Toning Lotion.

Overall

I love Clarins products, but this is my first disappointment. The description "acts like a cosmetic eraser - smoothing, deep cleansing and brightening dull complexions" lead me to believe it is an exfoliator, as it claims to use "polishing microbeads". There was nothing exfoliating about it. It is a beautifully smooth, silvery cream that is more like a moisturiser in feel than something meant to polish your skin. It was more like a stock standard clay mask than an exfoliator. I liked that the clay base didn't dry my skin out, but in the end it did not match my expectation at all. I am disappointed that their description is so inaccurate and feel like I wasted $48.
