The Napoleon Perdis Makeup Academy has been around for almost 17 years, creating highly skilled makeup artists as well as helping the average gal to master her own makeup. The academy offers three very different courses, which means there is a learning experience for everyone, from a one-day workshop to a one-year diploma.
One Day
If you want to learn about makeup and to create great looks to suit you personally but you don't want to be a makeup artist, the Napoleon Academy's One Day Workshop is ideal. The workshop aims to demystify the makeup process and will teach you all the simple techniques you need to apply lips, foundation and day and night eye makeup. In the workshop you'll also learn a few tips the professionals use to keep up your sleeve.
A Couple of Months
If you're keen to learn more or take up makeup as a hobby, the Napoleon Perdis Certificate in Fashion, Glamour and Bridal Makeup Artistry is a way to strengthen your skills so you can be working on others with confidence. The nine-week course is part time (either on weekends or weekday evenings) and allows you to practice on models to create a variety of looks for different occasions and situations. This course is an ideal choice if you're looking to refresh your existing skills, if you're keen on working with makeup in a retail situation, or if you're looking to work as a bridal makeup artist.
One Year
The Napoleon Perdis Diploma Course is one for those who are truly serious about makeup and want to make it a career. This full-time course is all about practical, hands-on lessons. You'll have highly experienced instructors. The great part of the course is the industry experience: you'll have the opportunity to work alongside Napoleon Perdis Core Creative Makeup Artists at fashion shows, retail events, music festivals and VIP affairs. Once you've completed the course your options within the industry are wide open. You can consider a position as a Makeup Designer or Special Makeup Effects Artist/Designer in film and television, or look at working freelance as a Makeup Artist for fashion, film, television or bridal work.
