This cult favourite is loved by beauty editors, makeup artists and celebrities as the perfect lip balm for soft, kissable, slightly rose-tinted lips. First made by pharmacist George F. Smith in 1892 (the company is still owned and run by George's descendants), and packaged in a cute old-fashioned tin designed in 1962, this salve is also great for chapped skin, nappy rash, blemishes, detergent burns, and rough cuticles and hands.
